Youth killed as Sumo plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Sept 7: A 22-year-old youth was killed today when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and plunged into a 500-feet deep gorge here today, police official said.
Rakesh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Bagna village, allegedly took away the Tata Sumo bearing Registration Number JK14B-1900 of Farooq Ahmad, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Alo who had parked it on a link road outside his Alsi village Sunday night.
On seeing his vehicle missing in the morning, Ahmad was on way to lodge a police complaint when he came to know that his vehicle had met with an accident ahead of the parking point on the same road in the early hours, the official said.
Police official said the rescuers found the body of Singh from the damaged vehicle.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
