JAMMU, Sept 7: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu has registered criminal case against a Mohali based Visa Consultancy.
A handout of CB stated that cheat identified as Aditya from Mohali, owner of Consultancy VFS Global Associates located in Mohali, Punjab has been booked along with his associated Daljeet Singh son of Gurcharan Singh resident of Mohali and Love Preet Singh son of Harpal Singh, resident of Barnala for defrauding Manpreet Singh and Gagandeep Kour, residents of Reasi.
The frauds cheated the complainant of Rs 4,59,800 on the pretext of providing work visa to Canada.
In a written complaint the complainants alleged that they had a conversation with Aditya after getting his and his Consultancy’s reference from a television channel.
The accused lured the complainant and later showed some sort of offer letter from Canada and told him and his wife to deposit money on the name of health insurance, medical check-up and processing fee.
Later, the cheat demanded more money on the name of finger print forms, embassy fee and the accommodation charges for their stay at Canada.
After taking Rs. 4, 59,800 from the complainant, the cheat stopped attending their phone calls.
On receipt of complaint, the CB Jammu initiated preliminary verification and established prima facie offence against the accused U/S 420,120-B IPC. Accordingly, a formal case has been registered at CB Police Station Jammu against the cheats.
