SRINAGAR, Sept 6: Hassan Khoyihami Memorial Degree College Bandipora today conducted an online Mushaira on COVID-19 which was presided over by eminent poet, broadcaster and media personality, Farooq Nazki while the programme was anchored by Dr Tahir Mahmood of Urdu Department of the College.
The poets present in the Mushaira were Ayaz Rasool Nazki, Dr Shafaq Sopori, Nazir Azad, Fayaz Taligami, Shahnaz Rashid, Hassan Azhar, Shabir Ahmad Shabir, Parvaiz Maanous, Nisar Aizam and others.
Speaking on the occasion Farooq Nazki talked on pandemic and stressed upon the importance of promoting Urdu and Kashmiri literature.
The participants in the Mushaira were students, faculty of the colleges, poets, scholars from Kashmir and outside.
Earlier the programme started with welcome address by Principal of the College, Dr Mohd Amin Malik who said that poets, intellectuals and academicians are assets as they give new ideas and opinions that can reshape our society.
The Mushaira concluded with a vote of thanks by Fazaz Ahmad.
