JAMMU, Sept 2: National Student Union of India (NSUI) today staged a protest against Vice Chancellor and Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University Jammu, for not accepting the demand of excluding all extra charges or service charges as mentioned in fee structure set for both UG and PG courses.
Speaking on the occasion, NSUI district president Sunny Parihar said that the Cluster University of Jammu and University of Jammu both are in J&K UT but for same courses like MEd, the fee varies highly which is prejudiced and discriminatory with student community. He said while JU charges Rs 10,920 for MEd, the Cluster University is demanding about Rs 22,940.
Parihar further said that the students who come under EWS category and BPL category may be exempted from paying the fee for the current session so as to provide encouragement to economically weaker students. He later demanded from the competent authorities to extend the admission date for all PG as well as UG courses and admit students of the intermediate semesters provisionally so that their classes may not suffer.
