RAJOURI, Apr 18: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today inaugurated laparoscopic surgery facility in District Hospital here.
Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, the Minister said that the facility of camera guided knee surgeries would also be started in the hospital in coming days. He said for the purpose necessary equipments worth Rs 10 lakh have been purchased which would be installed soon.
The Minister said that laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery, is a technique that allows surgery to be performed without the long traditional incision.
Shabir said that concerted efforts of the Government are on to strengthen the existing outlying health institutions in terms of specialized manpower, infrastructure and diagnostic equipment for reducing the un-necessary referrals and bring them at par with the tertiary care institutions of the State.
The health Minister said that flagship schemes NRHM, MGNREGA and RGGVY are proving beneficial in improving the development under core sectors in the State.
The Minister also took stock of the functioning of DH and instructed concerned for ensuring cleanliness in and around the hospital besides providing all available facilities to the patients.
The Health Minister also reviewed the physical and financial status of new under execution District Hospital Complex, Rajouri, coming up at a cost of Rs. 36. 36 crore and directed concerned executing agency for its time bound completion.
