NPP to protest, alleges shortage of ration

UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: Panthers Party has warned to launch agitation if the Government failed to distribute ration to the people within next five days.
MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia in a press statement issued here today said that concerned CAPD Department has failed to provide ration to the people for the month of April. He alleged that majority of the depots were dry and dealers have put lock as there was no ration inside. He said the supply for the month has not been ensured and the public has been left high and dry.
The NPP leader pointed out that not only in the town but in villages of the area, there was no ration in the depots/ outlets. The people have been forced to purchase ration from the private shops. It shows non-seriousness on the part of Government. He said no rice or levy sugar is available and even the during the Navratra festival, the people were left to suffer.
Mr Mankotia further alleged that in Jammu region 35 kg ration per family is being provided while in Kashmir, CAPD is providing 13 kg per member. He alleged that APL ration has been missing from the outlets while BPL is said to be made available. He said that NPP workers would start dharna/ fast outside Raj Bhawan.
