92 more tests positive for dengue

JAMMU, Oct 14: Ninety-two fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu division on Monday, taking the total number of infections this year to 1,879.
As many as 392 tests were conducted on October 13. Of the new cases, 61 are males and 31 females, including 14 children and 78 adults. Jammu district reported highest 45 cases, raising its total to 810. Udhampur followed with 26 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 229. Kathua recorded 13 cases taking its total cases to 514. Poonch reported 5 new infections while Samba, Kishtwar and Kashmir detected one case each.
So far, 18,562 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,027 cases. Hospital data shows no new admissions today while six patients are still under treatment.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
