JAMMU, Oct 28: Ninety-two fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,573.
As many as 391 tests were conducted on October 27. Of the new cases, 47 are males and 45 females, including 10 children and 82 adults. Jammu district reported highest 30 cases, raising its total to 1080. Udhampur followed with 24 new cases and Kathua 20, taking their cumulative tally to 342 and 700, respectively. Ramban recorded 7 cases, Reasi 4 while Samba and Doda detected 2 cases each. One case each was reported from Rajouri, Kashmir and other states/UTs.
So far, 22,384 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 4,537 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today. Three patients are still under treatment in various hospitals while 2 took LAMA to seek treatment in private hospitals
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
