JAMMU, Mar 10: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has accorded approval to appointment of vice chairpersons for 16 Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) in the State.
Out of 16 VCs to be appointed, nine belonged to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and seven to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The proposal has been vetted by Finance Ministry also and Minister of Finance, Labour & Employment, Dr Haseeb Drabu has written a letter to the General Administrative Depart-ment (GAD) for issuance of formal orders in this regard which, however, are still awaited.
Among the seven BJP members, Party spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan has been appointed as Vice Chairman of J&K Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development Corporation, while another senior leader of the Party Munish Sharma has been appointed as VC of JAKFED, senior BJP leader, Virenderjit Singh has been appointed as VC of J&K Police Housing Corporation while former district president BJP Subash Jandial was appointed VC of Jammu Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO).
BJP spokesperson Khalid Jhangir was appointed as VC of J&K Project Construction Corporation (JKPC) while another Party senior leader from Kashmir Ali Mohammed Mir was appointed as VC of J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (SICOP).
Another BJP leader from Valley, G M Mir was appointed as VC of J&K Horticulture (Produce & Marketing Corporation).
Among the nine PDP leaders former MLA and Party spokesperson, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat was appointed as VC of J&K Handloom Development Corporation while Abdul Salam Reshi was appointed as VC of J&K State Forest Development Corporation.
PDP’s Gulzar Ahmed was appointed as VC of J&K Industries Ltd while Mir Bashir was appointed as VC of J&K Minerals Ltd. Another Party leader Parvez Ahmed was appointed as VC of J&K State Road Transport Corporation (J&KSRTC) while Ms Vijya Dogra was appointed as VC of J&K Women’s Development Corporation.
PDP leader Manmohan Choudhary was appointed as VC of J&K Medical Supplies Corporation while Rashid Ahmed was appointed as VC of J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation and Nazir Itoo also of PDP was appointed as VC of J&K Cements.
Sources said the proposal was accorded approval by Chief Minister yesterday and the new VCs were likely to assume office by Monday next week.
