9 JCBs, 15 tractor-trollies seized for illegally extracting minerals

JAMMU, Aug 17: Police seized 9 JCBs and 15 tractor-trollies for illegally extracting minerals from Nikki Tawi river near Phalian Mandial bridge.
As per police sources, while executing the orders of District Magistrate Jammu, Simranjeet Singh regarding ban of all sort of extraction of minor minerals from rivers within one kilometer of all bridges and structures, a team from Satwari police station along with Executive Magistrate Majid Hussain and Naib Tehsildar Satwari seized 9 JCBs and 15 tractor trollies which were illegally extracting minerals near the Nikki Tawi bridge at Phalian Mandial bridge.
A case under FIR Number 160/16 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at police station Satwari and investigation started.
The whole operation was supervised by SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria along with SDM South Sonu Pargal.
