86 fresh dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Nov 4: Jammu and Kashmir reported 86 new dengue cases on Monday, taking the total count this year to 2,867, according to figures released by the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu.
A total of 371 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Of the fresh positive cases, 53 are males and 33 females. The age-wise breakup shows 14 cases among children and 72 among adults.
Jammu district continues to bear the highest burden with 29 cases today and a cumulative tally of 1,209. Udhampur followed with 31 cases, while Kathua reported 16 and Samba 2. Several districts, including Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar and Kashmir region, recorded zero cases today. A total of 41 cases have been reported from other states and UTs this year.
Since January, 48 patients have been admitted, of whom 44 have been discharged. One death has been recorded so far. A comparison with last year shows a significant decline, as 5,127 cases were reported during the same period in 2024.
