POONCH, Aug 22: While 832 more pilgrims in 23 vehicles reached Poonch town this evening, about 1450 pilgrims performed darshan at the shrine of Budha Amarnath ji at Mandi town today.
Official sources said that 832 yatris, mostly from out side the State in 19 buses and four light motor vehicles left from the Jammu base camp and reached Poonch town this evening. They were received by SSP Poonch JS Johar, Dy Commissioner Nissar Ahmed Wani and ASP Amit Gupta besides other members of the Yatra Reception Committee. The pilgrims were accommodated in Govt Degree College, Higher Secondary School and other ‘Sarais’ in Poonch for night halt.
Yatra officer Mandi, Dr V K Bhalla received 1450 pilgrims who reached from Poonch this morning. After paying their obeisance at the shrine, they left for Jammu.
A pilgrim from Katra Ravinder Sharma suffered massive heart attack near Kalai bridge at around 10 am today. He was rushed to nearby Army hospital and then shifted to Poonch district hospital. His condition was improving.
