KISHTWAR, July 8: Eight persons of a marriage party were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Dhrubeel area, falling under the jurisdiction of Chatroo Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK17-0452 was on its way from Horna to Palmar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into gorge, resulting into injuries to 8 persons of a marriage party.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals started rescue operation.
All the injured were shifted to hospital, where they were undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Lekh Raj, son of Fakir Chand of Dhrubeel, Dewan Chand, son of Bahadur of Thakrai, Kamlesh Devi, wife of Dewan Chand of Thakrai, Pinky, daughter of Swami Raj of Dhrubeel, Kajol, daughter of Lekh Raj of Dhrubeel, Sanjay Kumar, son of Bachan Dass of Gunnath, Shakuntla, wife of ROmesh of Dhrubeel and Roopesh, son of Fakir Chand of Dhrubeel.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Chatroo Police Station and investigation started.
