8 bovine animals rescued from smugglers

UDHAMPUR, Apr 6: Udhampur police today rescued 8 bovine animals at Chenani which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley.
Reports said that on the basis of reliable information, Police Party of Police Station Chenani laid a special Naka at Pul-Mada Chenani. During the checking of vehicles, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14A-4251, on way from Udhampur to Srinagar, was signaled to stop. The vehicle was found loaded with eight bovine animals, which were rescued while the driver was arrested. A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station, Chenani.
During the last one week, Udhampur Police under the supervision of SP Benam Tosh have arrested 20 persons including 10 top smugglers and rescued 43 bovine animals.
