8 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: In its continued drive, Udhampur Police rescued eight bovines which were being smuggled to Kashmir.
These bovines were being smuggled a vehicle, Tata Yodha, bearing registration number JK14J-1971, which was intercepted at Upper Samroli area by a police team of Police Station Chenani, led by SHO, Raghuvir Singh.
Sensing trouble, driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot taking advantage of the traffic on road. During checking, the vehicle was found loaded with eight bovine animals without any valid permission.
Police rescued all the animals and seized the vehicle. In this regard, a case FIR No. 115/2025 U/S 281 BNS, 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
