JAMMU, Jan 27: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event saw a unified display of patriotism, with Government departments, healthcare institutions, security forces, and local organizations coming together to commemorate this historic occasion.
From flag-hoisting ceremonies to cultural programs and speeches, the celebrations highlighted India’s progress and reaffirmed the commitment of the people in the region to contribute to the nation’s growth and development.
The 76th Republic Day celebrations served as a reminder of the values enshrined in the Constitution and the collective responsibility to uphold them.
At Jammu Airport, the Republic Day celebrations were a vibrant showcase of national pride.
The event began with Airport Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg addressing the gathering and paying tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence.
Cultural programs highlighting the unity and diversity of the nation followed, along with awards recognizing the efforts of stakeholders including CISF personnel, airline staff, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the medical department, who actively participated in the celebrations.
The Republic Day was celebrated with full fervour and gaiety at Aayakar Bhawan Jammu.
The Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) K Mehboob Ali Khan, unfurled the National Flag.
A drawing competition was held for kids who showcased the different colours of unity in diversity of the country.
A radio play based on a patriotic theme was performed by the staff members of the department. Freedom fighters Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan were remembered who successfully concluded the Kakori Conspiracy Plan.
The Commissioner explained the sacrifices of the National heroes and urged on the need of patriotism in the present scenario. He praised the efforts of children who showed their talent by pencil and colours.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated the Republic Day in a grand manner near its township in Bahu Plaza, Jammu.
The National flag was unfurled by Arindham Chakraborty, Chief General Manager (Projects & Consultancy).
Speaking to the gathering, he emphasized India’s journey towards self-reliance and the collective responsibility of every citizen to work towards a developed nation.
A cultural program with patriotic fervour was also organized, with performances by employees and their families, and awards were presented to the winners of various competitions.
The Directorate of Health Services Jammu (DHSJ), led by Dr Rakesh Magotra, marked Republic Day with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
Dr Magotra highlighted the importance of the Constitution of India and urged the healthcare staff to work with zeal for better delivery of healthcare services.
The event also included a plantation drive and a pledge to eliminate tuberculosis under the 100-day TB elimination campaign.
The occasion ended with the distribution of sweets to attendees.
At Police Hospital Jammu, the National Flag was hoisted by Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, the Medical Superintendent.
A cultural program, including patriotic songs performed by doctors and staff, was organized to mark the occasion.
Dr Kotwal emphasized the importance of dedication, devotion, and honesty in nation-building, urging the staff to remain committed to their duties and contribute to the country’s progress.
NHPC celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great pride at its locations across the country.
The flag was unfurled at the Corporate Office in Faridabad by R K Chaudhary, CMD of NHPC.
He extended his greetings to NHPC employees and highlighted the company’s ongoing contributions to India’s energy security.
Chaudhary also spoke about several key projects and new initiatives, including renewable energy investments and the commissioning of hydroelectric power plants.
The Agriculture Department, Jammu, celebrated Republic Day with the hoisting of the National Flag by Director A S Reen at Krishi Bhawan.
Director Reen reaffirmed the department’s commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and the betterment of the farming community.
He also spoke about the department’s achievements in boosting farmers’ income through various initiatives like FPOs, organic farming, and farm mechanization.
In Srinagar, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports organized a spirited Republic Day function.
Gh Hassan Lone, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar, hoisted the National Flag at the Sports Complex, Wazir Bagh.
His speech emphasized the importance of Republic Day and encouraged staff to contribute to the nation’s progress.
The event also featured a cultural program, and sweets were distributed to participants.
At the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in Bari Brahmana, Director Rajinder Kumar Sharma unfurled the tricolour.
The Director highlighted the significance of the Constitution and its role in shaping India into a sovereign, democratic republic.
He also reiterated JKEDI’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship, particularly among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, as a means to contribute to national development.
In Katra, the 76th Republic Day was celebrated at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex with a flag-hoisting ceremony conducted by Anshul Garg, CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
The event featured a march-past by J&K Police, CRPF, NCC, and students.
The CEO reiterated the Shrine Board’s commitment to improving facilities for pilgrims and highlighted several ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience.
Cultural performances by local students further enriched the celebration.
CVPPL celebrated Republic Day with the flag unfurled by Managing Director Ramesh Mukhiya at the corporate office in Jammu.
In his address, Mukhiya reminded employees of the importance of the Constitution and expressed confidence in the timely completion of key national projects, such as the Pakal Dul and Kiru Hydroelectric projects.
Kwar HE Project (540 MW) CVPPL celebrated the 76th Republic Day at Kishtwar with great patriotic zeal and fervour.
The event was initiated with unfurling of the National Flag by SK Giri, General Manager, incharge HoP Kwar HE Project followed by address to the employees of Kwar HE Project CVPPL.
He highlighted the progress and ongoing works of Kwar HE Project and encouraged the Kwar staff to impulse their energy for the progress of the project and contribute towards nation.
In Poonch, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer, hoisted the national flag at the Chief Medical Office, marking the Republic Day celebrations.
The event was attended by a large number of health officials and staff members.
In a solemn observance, the Retirees Police League of Jammu organized a Republic Day function under the leadership of President S Karanjit Singh.
Floral tribute were paid to the freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives for the country’s independence.
The event was attended by several retired police officers and members of the community.
Similar events were held across the departments and organisations in different parts of the region.
