JAMMU, Feb 12: Principal Sessions Judge Ganderbal Abdul Nasir today awarded seven years imprisonment to Amir Ashraf Zargar, son of Mohammad Ashraf Zargar of Safapora, who was facing trial for committing rape with minor for 9 years.
After hearing both the sides, the court ordered, “in the present facts and circumstances of the case, the accused is sentenced to simple imprisonment for a term up to 7 years for offence under Section 363 RPC. Further, he is awarded 7 years imprisonment for offence under Section 376 RPC. Both the sentences shall run concurrently”.
