SAMBA, Mar 19: Police in district Samba claimed today they have detained seven more vagrants under the preventive sections of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The vagrants, who were wandering suspiciously, were detained from drug hotspots Rakh Barotia and Mawa under the jurisdictions of the Police Station Vijaypur and Police Post Rajpura, a police official said.
After their detentions, all the detained individuals were sent to District Jail in Kathua district, he said.
“The detentions aimed at curbing drug-related offences and rehabilitate those involved in narcotics substance abuse,” added the police official.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
