7 J&K segment AGMUT cadre IAS officers promoted to STS, 13 to SG

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has promoted 7 Jammu and Kashmir segment AGMUT cadre IAS officers to the Super Time Scale (STS) besides granting Selection Grade to 13 other IAS officers of the segment.

As per an order, those IAS officers who have been promoted to the Super Time Scale (Level 14 in the pay matrix) are 2009 batch AGMUT Cadre IAS officer Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, and six 2010 batch IAS officers Prasanna Ramaswamy G, Ram Niwas Sharma, Talat Parvez Iqbal Rohella, Rukhsana Gani, Rehana Batul and Mir Tariq Ali.
While Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary is currently posted as Secretary to the Government, Science and Technology Department, Prasanna Ramaswamy G is posted as Secretary to the Government, Tribal Affairs Department, and Ram Niwas Sharma is serving the region as Secretary to the Government, School Education Department.
Talat Parvez Iqbal Rohella is currently serving the region as Chairman, Bureau of Public Enterprises, J&K, Rukhsana Gani is the Chairperson of the Special Tribunal, J&K, Rehana Batul is Director, Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration & Rural Development, and Mir Tariq Ali is Director General, Women Child Development, J&K.
Another order said that twelve 2013 batch and one 2010 batch J&K segment AGMUT Cadre IAS officers have been granted the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix).
Those 12 IAS officers of 2013 batch who have been granted the selection grade and are posted in the region are Avny Lavasa, Anshul Garg, Vikas Kundal, Nidhi Malik, Nazim Zai Khan, Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, Pardeep Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Narinder Singh Bali, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu, and Mohammad Akbar Wani, while Dr Shah Faesal is the 2010 batch IAS officer, who is currently on the central deputation, and has been granted the proforma promotion to the Selection Grade.
While Avni Lavasa is currently posted as Administrative Secretary Transport Department, Anshul Garg is posted as Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, with additional charge of the post of Additional Chief Executive Officer, Srinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
Similarly, Vikas Kundal is serving the region as Chairman, J&K Service Selection Board, Nidhi Malik as DC Reasi, and Nazim Zai Khan as Mission Director Mission Vatsalya/ Shakti (ICPS), J&K.
IAS officers Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, Pardeep Kumar, and Rahul Sharma were transferred from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on May 16, 2025, and are currently serving in Goa, Chandigarh, and Ladakh.
IAS officer Narinder Singh Bali is currently posted as Mission Director, Mission Dairy Development, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat as Director Sericulture J&K, Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu as Commissioner Enquiries J&K, and Mohammad Akbar Wani as Director Social Welfare, Kashmir.
Dr Shah Faesal is currently on Central deputation and is posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
