SRINAGAR : At least seven people were injured as two blasts rocked south Kashmir districts of Shopian and Pulwama today, official sources said. Sources said unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade at main market, Tral, in Pulwama district going to polls on December 14 in the third phase.
The grenade exploded on the roadside causing splinter injuries to seven, who have been shifted to hospital. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and started massive search operation to nab the attackers. On December 3, militants attacked a patrol party at Pahloo in Pulwama in which a CRPF officer was killed and 3 CRPF and a state police personnel besides a civilian was injured.
A blast occurred near a police station at Shopian, also in south Kashmir, going to polls in the fourth phase on December 14.
Official sources said an unexploded shell went off near the police station.
However, no one was injured.
A sarpanch was killed and another was fired upon and injured by unidentified gunmen at Shopian last week. (agencies)
