7 injured in road accident

RAJOURI, July 1: Seven persons were injured when a mini-bus met with an accident in Thandi Kassi area of district Rajouri on Tuesday.
Official sources said that mishap took place when mini-bus, bearing registration number JK11-6311, which was on its way from Manjakote to Rajouri, suddenly went out of control and met with an accident near Thandi Kassi.
The vehicle was said to be over speeding and over turned on the road, resulting in injuries to the driver and six other passengers. The accident caused panic among the commuters, and locals immediately rushed to the spot to provide assistance. The police also arrived on the spot and joined rescue operation.
All the injured were promptly evacuated and shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Rajouri for medical treatment.
Medical Superintendent of the GMC Hospital, Dr Shamim Ahmed, said that seven persons were admitted to the hospital.
Among the injured are Ulfat Begum, daughter of Lal Hussain, aged 20 years, resident of Darhal; Maniza Akhter, daughter of Yasin Hussain, aged 20 years, resident of Thanamandi; and Mohd Iqbal, son of Barket Hussain, aged 28 years, resident of Panjgrain; Radhe Sham, son of Nathu Ram, aged 40 years; his wife Manju, aged 32 years; and two other family members — Hari Om, son of Chotu, aged 8 years, and Noni Bhai, wife of Chotu, aged 31 years. These four are originally from Madhya Pradesh and are presently residing near Workshop Bridge in Rajouri.
The condition of the injured is reported to be stable, and they are receiving necessary treatment at GMC Rajouri. Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the matter.
