RAJOURI, Nov 29: Seven people, including a couple and their son, were injured in a head-on collision between an Alto car and an auto-rickshaw accompanying a wedding party in the Dalogra area on the Rajouri-Jammu highway on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred around 8 pm when an Alto car (Registration No. JK11A-7476), traveling from Rajouri towards Siot in Sunderbani with a marriage party, collided with an auto-rickshaw (Registration No. JK11H-3090). The impact left seven individuals from both vehicles injured.
Upon receiving information, SHO Rajouri, Abid Bukhari, along with a team from Rajouri Police Station, rushed to the spot. With assistance from local residents, all the injured persons were immediately shifted to GMC Rajouri for medical treatment.
According to Dr Javed Iqbal, Deputy Medical Superintendent, GMC Rajouri, the injured – Mohammad Sajid, Mohammad Afzal, Waqar Ahmed, Javed Iqbal, Vishal Sasan, his wife Neetu Sharma, and their son Utkarsh Bhargava – are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable and out of danger.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, seized both vehicles involved, and initiated further investigation.
