7 fraudsters, cheaters booked by CB

JAMMU, Sept 13: Crime Branch has registered a case against seven fraudsters for cheating an innocent man of his hard earned money on the pretest of managing Government jobs for his children.
A spokesman of the Crime Branch said that one Manohar Singh Jamwal, son of Trilok Singh Jamwal of Udhampur, who was desperate to seek Government jobs for his son and daughter, came in contact with one Jagtar Singh alias Bittu Denter of Batala Gurdaspur presently putting up at Udhampur.
Bittu Denter arranged Manohar’s meeting with one Daleep Dhar, son of Ravinder Dhar, a resident of Ward No. 6, Udhampur in the month of September 2010. Daleep Dhar assured the complainant that he being an influential person could manage Government jobs in different departments in case he was provided Rs 4 lakh immediately.
On the assurance of the accused Daleep Dhar, the complainant paid him Rs 4 lakh. However no appointment order was provided to him. After waiting for about 25 days, the complainant made enquiries from the accused Daleep Dhar who in turn arranged another meeting of the complainant with accused Mohd Rafiq and Bilal Ahmed Handoo alias Doctor Sahib at Srinagar on the pretext that both these persons were members of the J&K Bank Board, Railway Recruitment Board and members of the IB.
The complainant was asked by these two accused persons to deposit money in their accounts immediately so that they could provide jobs. However, despite depositing an amount of Rs 10,89,000 with the accused persons no job/ appointment order was provided by the accused persons.
When the accused persons started threatening the complainant of dire consequences in case he dared to approach them again, the complainant knocked the doors of the Crime Branch and accordingly a case was registered against Daleep Dhar, Jagtar Singh alias Bittu Denter, Bilal Ahmed Handoo alias Doctor Sahib, son of Abdul Karim Handoo of Bemina, Firdous Colony,  Mohd Rafiq, resident of Airport Road, Srinagar, Asif Jeelani, son of Khizar Mohammad, Sub-Contractor Railway Supplier, Syed Maqbool Hussain, son of Rasool Shah, Al-Masmuin Yateem Trust, Srinagar and Syed Feroz Hussain, son of Syed Murtaza of Sonapah, Beerwah Budgam.
