SRINAGAR, Feb 21: Seven personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured today after a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a canal in the Ahmad Nagar area of the city outskirts. Officials said the accident occurred along the Umar Hair stretch at Dagpora when a BP bunker vehicle carrying CRPF personnel lost control while negotiating the road.
The vehicle slid off the carriageway and plunged into a water channel alongside the road.
Emergency teams, assisted by local residents, rescued the injured personnel from the vehicle and shifted them to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for treatment. The injured were identified as Naginder Singh, Ajit Kumar Ram, Raj Kishore Rai, Amit Kumar Yadav, Rajdhan Ram, Mankar Kumar and Neeraj Kumar.
