UDHAMPUR, May 22: Udhampur Police foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued seven bovines under the jurisdictions of PP Sudhmahadev and PP Roundomail.
A Bolero Pick-up (registration number JK14K-2371) driven by Mohd Waseem of Latti, was intercepted at Sudhmahadev nakapoint. Upon inspection, three bovines were found being transported without any legal permission. All bovines were rescued and the accused was arrested on the spot. A case has been registered at PS Chenani.
In other case, a Tata Yodha (registration number JK14K-3200) driven by Haroon Ahmed of Roun-Domail, was intercepted at the Roundomail naka point. During the search, four bovines were found being transported illegally without any valid permission. An FIR No. 183/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Udhampur. The accused has been arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
