UDHAMPUR, July 8: Seven Amarnath pilgrims were injured when they were returning from Srinagar to Jammu after the Tavera in which they were traveling collided with a truck at Motor Shed Chenani this evening.
According to SSP Udhampur, Anil Magotra the Tavera bearing number JK01-335 collided with a truck bearing number JK02F-9325 coming from opposite direction at Motor Shed Chenani resulting in injury of seven yatris.
He said the drivers of both the vehicles fled from the spot. He said a police party from Chenani rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to hospital. Out of seven injured, three were shifted to GMC as their condition was serious while four are undergoing treatment at PHC Chenani. The pilgrims belonged to West Bengal. The Chenani Police has registered a case.
Police had deputed Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and other available resources to the spot to help the yatris.
