62 fresh dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 23: Sixty-two fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,314.
As many as 386 tests were conducted on October 22. Of the new cases, 34 are males and 28 females, including 12 children and 50 adults. Kathua district reported highest 30 cases, raising its total to 634. Jammu followed with 17 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 1006. Udhampur recorded 5 cases while Samba and Reasi detected four cases each. Two cases were also reported from other states/UT.
So far, 21,102 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 4,033 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today while nine patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
