JAMMU, Oct 15: Sixty-two fresh dengue cases were reported across the Jammu division on Tuesday, taking the total number of infections this year to 1,941.

As many as 389 tests were conducted on October 14. Of the new cases, 47 are males and 15 females, including 7 children and 55 adults. Jammu district reported highest 27 cases, raising its total to 837. Kathua followed with 26 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 540. Samba and Rajouri recorded 3 cases each while Udhampur and Kashmir detected one case each. One case was also reported from Other States/UTs.
So far, 18,951 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,205 cases. Hospital data shows no new admissions today while six patients are still under treatment.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
