62 fresh dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 1: Jammu and Kashmir reported 62 new dengue cases on other day, taking the cumulative tally for the year 2025 to 1105.

A total of 408 tests were conducted on Tuesday, of which 40 males and 22 females tested positive. Among the new cases, 9 were children under 18 years of age, while 53 were adults.
District-wise, Jammu continued to report the highest number with 27 fresh cases, raising its total to 445. Kathua followed with 26 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 332. Samba reported 6 new infections while Udhampur and Reasi one case each. One case was also detected from other States.
So far in 2025, 15,087 tests have been conducted, yielding 1105 positives. In comparison, 14,112 tests had been carried out by the same date in 2024, when 1,876 cases were recorded-indicating a lower positivity rate this year.
On the clinical front, no fresh hospital admissions were reported on Tuesday. However, seven patients remain under treatment. Cumulatively, 31 patients have been admitted since January.
