JAMMU, June 20: All J&K Sad Guru Kabir Sabha celebrated 618th Kabir Jayanti at Kabir Bhawan, Chak Avtara, Bishnah with great zest and zeal. The function was largely attended by the devotees and followers of Sant Kabir from different parts of the State. The day started with profusely garlanding the statue of Sant Kabir Ji at Kabir Rotary near Bus Stand.
A spiritual discourse was delivered by Baba Bhagwan Dass Ji (Udhas Marg R S Pura) on the Bhaints saints with special reference to Kabir Bani. He explained the Sangat that Kabir was a living spirit of God who preached the inner richness of human values.
President of Sad Guru Kabir Sabha, F C Bhagat welcomed Baba Bhagwan Dass Ji, Bhushan Lal Dogra, all district, block and Mandir committees and other Kabir Panthies including heads of other social organizations who attended the function. He while speaking about Sad Guru Kabir, also congratulated the students of Bhagat community who secured top positions in recent State Board, University results and the candidates selected for KAS, MBBS and other allied services.
Vice president of the Sabha Prof Ashok Bhagat while speaking appealed the community to reduce their unwanted expenses and provide best education to their children for their bright future.
Vice Chairman, Advisory Board for SC, Bhushan Lal Dogra exhorted the gathering to follow the path of Sant Kabir.
H R Phonsa, representative of Sadguru Ravi Dass Sabha) and R K Kalsotra, president Confederation of SC/ST Organisations also appealed the community to unite on a common platform and maintain a positive approach for proper upliftment of backward communities.
Entire Bhagat community and head of all other social organizations appealed the State Government and demanded that the issue of Reservation in Promotions should be sorted out at an earliest as the same is a constitutional right.
Among others who attended the function were G R Bhagat (senior vice president) Sunny Chargotra, president Budh Vihar Sabha, Chaman Lal, (vice presidents), Dr Gurdass Ram (Chairman, Litigation Committee), Pardeep Bhagat (District Jammu president), Manohar Lal (general secretary), district presidents Babu Ram, Dr Buti Ram, coordinators Subhash Bhagat and Ravinder Bhagat and all the office bearers who paid rich tributes to the great saint Shri Sad Guru Kabir Sahib.
Birth anniversary of Bhagat Kabir Ji Maharaj was celebrated at Gurudwara Shri Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar, Omara Morh, Udhampur by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Udhampur, local Sangat of Gurudwara Shri Tegh Bahadur Nagar, S K Police Academy, 137 CRPF Bn and Army today.
Shri Ramras Paath was done by Head Granthi Gurudwara Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Bhai Navjyot Singh. Kirtan was performed by Hazuri Ragi Bhai Jagtar Singh and Ragi Jatha Bhai Jarnail Singh Jee from Chandigarh, Ragi Kuldeep Kour Bhatiya from Ludhiana and 534 Shabad of Bhagat Kabir Ji in 18 Rags in Shri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj.
Parcharak Gurcharan Singh Bhatiya highlighted the teachings of Sant Kabir Ji Maharaj. 137 CRPF Deputy Commandant R P Singh, Uttam Singh SSP Randhir Singh, Lt Col Dr Rattandeep Singh Ahuja, AG DP Singh Chima, Dr Ravinder Singh, Harish, Sohan Lal Advocate and others attended. Guru Kak Langer was also served. President Janak Singh Dutta presented vote of thanks.
