616th birth anniversary of Kabirji celebrated

JAMMU, June 29: On celebration of 616th birth anniversary of great saint and social reformist Sadguru Kabirji Maharaj, a great function was organized at Kabir Temple, Old Janipur, Jammu.
Kabirpanthi and devotees of Kabir Maharaj from nearby places like Kot Bhalwal, Akhnoor, Maira Mandrian, Nagrota, R S Pura and Bishnah participated in the function and paid their obeisance to the great saint of Medieval time-Bhakti movement in India.
Preachings and teachings of great saint Kabir were highlighted which pertained to his message of peace, brotherhood, social justice and social equality. Speakers highlighted the path of truth and simple living of Kabir Sahib. The chief guest of the function Mula Ram, ex-Minister, exorted upon the audience to shun bad habits like drinking, smoking, dowry etc. The president of All J&K Kabir Sabha F C Bhagat also addressed the people and stressed upon education of children for welfare and development of family and society at  large. Senior vice president G A Bhagat (IAS retd) also addressed the gathering.
Preaching and Bhajans of Kabir Sahib were narrated and sung by Dina Nath and his party in the satsang.
Meanwhile,  block Bhalwal committee of Bhagat Mahasabha J&K unit celebrates 616th Parkash Utsav of Sadguru Kabir Sahib ji at Malpur, Block Bhalwal today wherein thousands of people of Megh community participated  to pay homage to great Saint of Bhakti movement.
Satsang & kirtan was  held on the occasion by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat Ji .While singing the Sabad, Dohe & Sakhian of Kabir Sahib ji, Swami ji asked the sangat to follow the teachings of  Kabir Sahib ji as only his teachings can bring Megh community out of backwardness & darkage.
Committee members who organised the function are Rattan Lal Bhagat Block Chairman, Rattan Lal Mangotra Block joint secretary, Kaku Ram Bhagat block president , Rattan Lal Bhagat block secretary  Ashok Bhagat, Dr Tarsem Lal and Yash Pal Bhagat.
At the end of the function preeti-bhoj was served to all.
