RAJOURI, Nov 30: The Indian Army today accorded a solemn homage and ceremonial salute to Captain (Hony) Talib Hussain, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) who passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest while on duty in Khari area of Poonch district.
The JCO, who was deployed at PP Khari under Police Station Poonch in Haveli tehsil, suffered a massive heart attack during his duty hours. Despite immediate evacuation for medical attention the brave heart could not be revived.
In the honour of his dedicated service and unwavering commitment to the nation 61 Rashtriya Rifles, Thannamandi organised a dignified wreath-laying ceremony. Senior Army officers, fellow soldiers, and representatives from the civil administration gathered to pay their last respects.
The ceremonial Guard of Honour by the troops of 61 RR reflected the Army’s deep respect for a soldier who devoted his life to safeguarding the nation. Army officials praised the JCO’s professionalism, discipline, and sense of duty, describing his demise as a significant loss to the unit and the force.
After the formal homage, all necessary legal procedures were completed, and the mortal remains were handed over to the family for last rites with full support from the Army. The Indian Army, police authorities, and the local administration extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured every possible assistance during this difficult time.
