JAMMU : Security forces in a joint search operation today busted a militant hideout and recovered 60 kgs of RDX and huge war like stores in mountainous district of Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Based on tip-off, the troops of Police along with 8 Rashtiya Rifles (RR), 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Counter Insurgency (Delta) Force launched today launched search operation in general area of Keshwan forests in Kishtwar District, Defence sources said here today.
They said during search operation, troops busted a militant hide out at around 1330 hrs and made recovered a huge war like store including 60 kgs of RDX, 03 kgs of other explosive material (including 01 kgs of Russian made), One AK -47 Rifle, 02-Pistols 03- Rifle 12 Bore, 01- Rifle 7mm PAK made, 40- Detonators, 47- Hand Grenades, 19-UBGL Grenades, 03 -RPG Rockets, 13-Magazine AK -47 Rifle, 01-Magazine Pistol, 608 -Rounds AK -47, 940 7.62mm Rifle Rounds, 01- wireless set, 01-Binocular, 01-AC/DC Charger, 01-Firing pad AK.
Sources added the area was cordoned and searches have been intensified. This is a major success achieved by security forces which will certainly prove detrimental to resurgence if insurgency in the area.
