NOWSHERA, Apr 29: In a major operation the Forest officials retrieved about 60 kanals of forest land from the encroachers and dismantled an illegal structure in Sunderbani Range of Nowshera Forest Division today.
Official sources said that the team of Forest officials led by Range Officer, Sunderbani, under the direct supervision of Conservator of Forests West Circle, Rajouri Sameer Bharti and DFO, Nowshera conducted the operation and cleared the land. They retrieved this land from the occupation of seven encroachers at Dharoon and Prat area of Sunderbani Range.
The Forest officials when contacted, stated that the grabbers were trying to convert the land into fields. Nearly 60 kanals area falling under compartment No. 51/D, 52/D and 53/D of Sunderbani Range has been retrieved. Besides this, one Kacha Dhera was also dismantled. Seven persons have been booked under Forest Act.
