REASI, Sept 17: In yet another incident of fatal attack by wild beast, a six-year old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in remote Barmat Kot area of Mahore, last evening.
The victim, namely Shaheena Akhtar (6), daughter of Bahar Din of village Badher in Mahore, was on way to home from a Dhok at Falas Kot when she was attacked by the leopard. The leopard dragged the girl to a nearby forest area and her body was recovered today by the Police. The body has been handed over to the family after autopsy.
It may be recalled that in a similar incident, a minor boy was mauled to death by a leopard in Mahore a few days back.
Meanwhile the second such incident of leopard attack has triggered a panic wave in the area forcing people to avoid going to jungles. The local Police has also appealed the Wild Life Department to take necessary action so that such incidents may not take place in future also.
