JAMMU, June 8: A 6-year-old girl child died after she was hit by an SUV at Raghunath Bazar area here today, officials said.

Ananya (6) daughter of Bunty Saini of Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh, sustained injuries when she was hit by a Scorpio vehicle (JK02DK-6666) driven by one Kartikey Vaid of Talab Tillo area at Raghunath Bazar area, they said.
The injured child was immediately taken to SMGS Hospital by the owner of the vehicle himself but she was declared as dead on arrival by the team of doctors, they said.
A police official told the Excelsior that the accused driver has been arrested while as a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station City and further investigation taken up.
