JAMMU, Oct 10: Police today arrested six gamblers along with Rs 6,100 stake money and playing cards from village Kalagam, falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota Police Station.
As per police sources, a team from Gharota Police Station conducted a raid in village Kalagam and arrested six gamblers along with Rs 6,100 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Jai Gopal of Ward Number 9, RS Pura, Rajinder Sharma, son of Ashok Kumar of Bakshi Nagar, Rajesh Suri, son of Rashpaul of Rehari, Ashok Kumar, son of Kuldeep Raj of Janipur, Perwinder Singh, son of Gurcharan Singh of Bakshi Nagar and Sandeep Singh, son of Sudarshan Singh of Bakshi Nagar.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Gharota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gharota Police Station Inspector Vinod Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and SP Rural ML Kaith.
