UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: A bovine smuggling attempt was foiled by police in Ramnagar area and six cattle were rescued today.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Station Ramnagar led by SHO Inspector SD Singh while checking vehicles on the main road in Langa area, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14H-8812. During checking he found six bovines loaded inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Driver of the vehicle namely Joginder Kumar, son of Paras Ram of Badhole, Ramnagar has been arrested. All the bovines were rescued and have been shifted to a safer place. A case FIR No. 12/2025 and under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Ramnagar.
