6 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, July 18: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Tikri and rescued six bovines besides arresting two smugglers, here today.
Police team of Police Post Tikri, while performing vehicle checking duty at Tikri Naka point, signalled to stop a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK06B- 2419. Upon checking, six bovines were found tied cruelly inside the vehicle.
Police rescued all the bovines and arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Mohd Shabir, son of Mohd Ismail and his associate namely Khadam Hussain, son of Mohd Ismail, both residents of Qazigund, Anantnag.
In this regard, case FIR number 110/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
