6 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 28: Police filed two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued six bovines besides arrested the alleged smugglers, here today.
According to Police, Javed Ahmed Kasana, son of Abdul Qayoom, of Doru, Anantnag was found smuggling two bovines in a cruel manner in vehicle number JK02CR-6093. The accused was arrested on the spot and both the bovines were safely rescued.
FIR No.96/2025 under Sections 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
Another individual, namely Arun Kumar, son of Rashpal of Samba was found smuggling four bovines from Jammu towards Kashmir in a vehicle number JK21C4107. The police team of PP Battal Ballian rescued all four bovines and arrested the accused on the spot.
In this connection, FIR number 234/2025 under Sections 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
