6 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: Udhampur Police today rescued six bovine animals and arrested two smugglers in this connection, here under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal.
Based on some reliable information, a Police party of Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO Paramjeet Singh, laid a surprise naka at National Highway near Flata Chowk and intercepted one Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration number JK14F 1885.
During the checking, six bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle without any permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and the accused driver namely Rashid Mohd, son of Din Mohd Gujjar of Mand, along with his associate Murad Ali, son of Ab Gani of Tharad, Udhampur, were arrested on the spot.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
