PULWAMA, June 21: 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), under the aegis of Chinar Corps organised a free Medical-cum-Veterinary camp at village Karimabad in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district under operation Sadhbhavna.
A team of Army and civil doctors including lady doctors and paramedics provided medical consultation to more than 600 people and distributed free medicines. A broad spectrum of diseases were encountered while treating patients in this area, the most common being respiratory diseases and skin disorders.
An awareness campaign was also conducted at the venue on hygiene and sanitation, lifestyle diseases and importance of vaccination to mitigate sufferings of residents of area.
Locals, especially women expressed their gratitude towards Army for coming forward for this noble cause to provide health care in this area which does not have access to medical care.
Suhail Ahmad, a local resident of the area recollecting the difficult times expressed that Army is a true friend as it has always come forward to help the local people in their hour of need.
