55 booked, Rs 5 lakh fined for using pressure horns

RAMBAN, Feb 12: Traffic Police Headquarters Ramban today launched a special drive against the use of pressure horns in vehicles.
Traffic authorities informed that the drive was launched simultaneously at Udhampur, Ramban, Banihal, Doda and Kishtwar.
They said that more than 600 vehicles were checked and 55 were booked for using pressure horn and a fine of Rs. 5 lakh was recovered from the violators.
Traffic Police has appealed to all commercial and private vehicles to refrain from installing and using pressure horns and remove any type of material on their side glasses, safety glasses and wind screen.
SSP Traffic National Highway Headquarters Ramban, Rohit Baskotra stated that the vehicle operators were asked a number of times to follow traffic rules and this special drive is launched to book violators who are still using pressure horns which causes inconvenience to the general public, students and patients.
The SSP stated that the drive will continue in the coming days to yield desired results.
