Kulgam : Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces and one militant arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Khudwani area of Kulgam district yesterday following specific information about the presence of some terrorists t. During the search operation , the terrorists had opened fire at the security forces following which jawans retaliated, leading to a gunfight.

Security forces yesterday killed two local Hizbul Mujahideen militants in an overnight encounter in Kashmir while the third surrendered, making it the first case of arrest during a gunfight in several years. The encounter had started last evening in Barbugh area of Shopian district after specific information about some militants hiding in the area, police said. During searches, the hiding militants opened fire at the security forces who retaliated, leading to a gunfight which continued till this morning (Agencies)
