Rs 1.14 lakh penalty imposed

RAJOURI, Mar 7: A traffic enforcement drive was conducted by the Motor Vehicle Department under supervision of ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta at different locations across the district including Rajouri town, Manjakote, Dhangri and along NH-144A to ensure compliance with traffic rules and enhance road safety.
During the drive, a total of 260 vehicles were checked by the enforcement team. Fifty two vehicles were challaned for various violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and a penalty amounting to Rs 1,14,000 was imposed.
The team also seized 11 vehicles, including three two-wheelers, one tempo and seven e-autos, for serious violations.
Additionally, two driving licences were recommended for suspension for grave traffic offences.
The enforcement drive was aimed at promoting adherence to traffic regulations and ensuring safer roads for the public.
The ARTO Rajouri reiterated that such drives will continue in the district to curb violations and maintain traffic discipline.
