JAMMU, Mar 15: Police today claimed to have solved a theft case registered at Police Station Akhnoor, recovering 50 stolen LPG cylinders of the Indian brand. One accused has been arrested in connection with the case.
A police official said that a theft case was registered at Police Station Akhnoor under FIR number 235/2025 under sections 303(2) of the BNS on December 11, 2025.
During investigation of this case, he said, police apprehended a suspect, identified as Zakir Hussain of Kotli Mian Fateh in RS Pura and presently residing at Gujjar Basti, Belicharana, in Jammu.
He said during sustained questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the theft and disclose the location where the stolen cylinders had been concealed.
Acting on the disclosure, the police official said, the stolen 50 LPG cylinders were recovered and a TaTa Mobile (JK02BD-2805) used in the commission of the crime was seized.
The accused in the case has been formally arrested and further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
