JAMMU, Dec 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu district claimed today their ESU team has recovered 50 lost mobile phones worth over Rs 15 lakh in the past six months.
A police official said the operation to recover the lost phones was carried out by the tech/ESU team led by PSI Dhanraj Singh, with the assistance of Constables Vishal Sharma, Dharminder Choudhary, and Sheetal Koul.
According to him, the phones were reported as lost across various police stations in South Zone of Jammu district.
He said SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma supervised the operation under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh.
After their recovery, the stolen mobile phones were returned to rightful owners today.
Meanwhile, addressing media persons after the handover of the digital devices to their owner, SP City South, along with SDPO East advised the public to take extra care with their communication devices as according to them, smart phones not only store valuable contacts but also contain sensitive personal information, such as photographs, emails, text messages, and financial details.
The owners of the recovered mobile phones also expressed their deep gratitude towards the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their efforts in retrieving their devices and protecting their private information.
