SUNDEBANI, July 31: In an surprising development today, a natural cave has been discovered in Siot area of Kalakote today.
Reports said the work on highway from Siot to Kalakote is going on for the last several months. Today during earthwork and road widening process with a JCB machine, an old Shiv cave was found in which the shape of a Shiv lingam with snake head and cow was noticed inside nearly 50 feet long cave.
Initially, this natural Shiv cave was noticed by operator of JCB, Kulbir Singh. He stopped the digging work and informed the locals of the area.
People rushed to the spot and saw this cave from inside and offered flowers, performed Puja. A local of the area Mohammed Ashraf said many times he has seen a large black snake in the area, which disappears after some time. He further said that there was an old fort on the upper side of this Shiv cave which has turned into ruins today. The officials from Kalakote additional district administration also visited the site. The number of visitors to the area has started increasing to see the cave.
