JAMMU, Sept 28: Jammu and Kashmir reported 50 new dengue cases on other day, taking the cumulative tally for the year 2025 to 970.
A total of 392 tests were conducted on Saturday, of which 30 males and 20 females tested positive. Among the new cases, seven were children under 18 years of age, while 43 were adults.
District-wise, Jammu continued to report the highest number with 23 fresh cases, raising its total to 394. Kathua followed with 19 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 275. Udhampur and Samba reported two new infections each, Reasi and Rajouri one case each, Kashmir one, and one case was detected from other States.
So far in 2025, 14,152 tests have been conducted, yielding 970 positives. In comparison, 13,109 tests had been carried out by the same date in 2024, when 1,598 cases were recorded—indicating a lower positivity rate this year.
On the clinical front, no fresh hospital admissions were reported on Saturday. However, seven patients remain under treatment. Cumulatively, 31 patients have been admitted since January.
