5 vehicles with 20 bovines seized on Mughal road

POONCH, May 10: The police seized five Tata Mobile vehicles loaded with 20 bovine animals near Bufliaz on Mughal road late this evening.
Acting on the directions of  SP Poonch, a police party led by SHO Surankote laid a naka on Mughal road near Bufliaz and seized five  vehicles loaded with bovine animals. These vehicles bearing registration Nos. JK-12/5095, JK-12/ 4331, JK-12/ 5013, JK-12/3386 and JK02AR/9778, were on way to Kashmir Valley via Mughal road.  The police seized all the vehicles along with animals and arrested five persons (drivers) in this connection.
Those arrested were identified as Mohd Akbar, son of Jalal Din, resident of Mastan Darra in Surankote, Javed Iqbal, son of Mohd Shamim, resident of Chandak, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi from Khanetar, Mohd Afzal, son of Abdullah from Seri Chuhana and Ghulam Qadir, son of Akbar, resident of Poonch. A case FIR No. 41/2013 was registered against them.
The SP took action after he received several complaints that massive smuggling of bovine animals via Mughal road was in progress without any check at several police `nakas’.  He directed the police party to keep check on the smuggling of animals.
